A Truly Authentic Inisheer Experience

The Aran Currach Experience is a unique, hands-on activity on Inis Oírr that brings visitors into the heart of island life and tradition.

A currach is a traditional Irish boat, used for generations along the west coast for fishing, travel, and community life. Lightweight yet strong, it is perfectly designed for the Atlantic waters.

During your visit, you’ll learn how these boats are built, hear the stories behind them, and take to the water yourself on the calm waters of Loch Mór.

We have several options for you including full day tours that include rowing, building, stone wall building & making potato ridges. Or we can create a custom tour for you!

This is more than a tour, it’s a living tradition you can be part of.
